Whether it’s the latest in fashion, innovative tech gadgets, or eco-friendly items – there’s an opportunity for everyone in the online selling space.

In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explore over 50 trending and profitable products across various categories that you can sell online in 2023.

We’ll dive into what makes these products so appealing, why they’re selling well, and where customers are buying them.

We hope you’ll find something on this list to add to your own online store. Or, if you’re brand new, we hope to inspire you to start selling products online today.

Let’s jump in!

How to find trending products online

There are several ways to find trending and profitable products to sell online. Here are some common methods:

Use Google Trends data

Google Trends allows you to see how popular certain items are for online searchers. This is a great way to discover trending products and ensure there is a wide market for your online store.

Just pop your keyword into the search field and hit Explore. Then, click the date dropdown and filter by the last five years.

If you see the graph rising or staying consistent (not necessarily a bad sign, especially in evergreen niches), that product is likely a profitable niche to go after.

Another great way to use Google Trends is to hit the Explore tab at the top of the page, select a category from the drop-down, and observe what products are currently trending.

For example, when I did this exercise, I saw that Blackstone grills were trending in the Home & Garden category.

Check social media platforms

Nowadays, social media platforms make it easy for new trends to appear and become popular. In fact, it’s usually social media that sets the trends.

The two trendsetting platforms are Instagram and TikTok. So, even if you’re not a regular user of those platforms, it’s not a bad idea to keep an eye on the platform to watch out for trending products.

Research profitable products

Researching profitable products is a great way to ensure high-profit margins.

You can use market research tools like SaleHoo to find profitable products or use keyword research tools like Jungle Scout or Helium 10 to find the hottest search queries on 3rd-party marketplaces like Amazon.

Research suppliers

Finding a supplier can be one of the trickiest (and most daunting) tasks when starting up an eCommerce store.

Here are a few ways to make the process smoother:

  1. Google “[your product] supplier” and see if you get lucky
  2. Check industry-standard supplier directories like Alibaba or ThomasNet
  3. Try to reverse-engineer competitor suppliers with tools like Import Genius
  4. Join “trusted supplier” directories from sites like Jungle Scout or SalesHoo

Between those four tactics, you’re more than likely to find a handful of reputable suppliers for many of the items on this list.

With all that said, let’s jump into the first category!
