Overview
This guide will walk through the settings available on the template editing screen.

Edit Screen Overview

 Size and Positioning Settings

  • Header: Clicking this will open the header editing window
    • Headers are template labels with a fixed position that can only be edited by clicking the Header button

  • Footer: Clicking this will open the footer editing window
    • Footers are template labels with a fixed position that can only be edited by clicking the Footer button

  • Snap to grid: Clicking this will restrict the placement of elements to a predefined, invisible, grid on the template.
  • Printing Conditions: Printing conditions are used to control which Template will be automatically selected when printing using the "Template Defined" option. Clicking this will open the Printing Conditions window

  • Print: Clicking this will print the current template
  • Left: This is the absolute position in pixels for the selected element from the left edge of the page. Altering this will move the element horizontally across the page
  • Top: This is the absolute position in pixels for the selected element from the top edge of the page. Altering this will move the element vertically down the page
  • Width: This is the width of the selected element in pixels. Altering this will alter the width of the selected element
  • Height: This is the height of the selected element in pixels. Altering this will alter the height of the selected element

 Template Settings

  • Name: This is the name of the invoice
    • Please note that a default template cannot be renamed
    • Please create a copy of the default template if you wish to rename it
  • Page Size: This sets the page size for the invoice
    • Selecting Custom Size will open a new window to enter a custom paper size
    • This can be edited by clicking the button
  • Orientation: This sets the orientation of the page
  • Virtual Printer: This is the printer that the template will print to when Linnworks uses this template for a document
    • For instance; regardless of what computer the print was requested on, an invoice with an integrated shipping label can be set to print on a printer in your warehouse, so that the invoice can be packed with the order and shipping label placed on the order packaging

  • Printer Overrides: Using this button will allow you to define the physical printer used to print the document based on the Linnworks user requesting the print

  • Collate Copies: When printing multiple copies of multi-page documents, collating documents will print each an entire copy of the first document before printing the second. Non-collated documents will print all copies of one page, then all copies of the next

 Returning to the Main Screen

To return to the main screen without saving changes, please click Back. If there are unsaved changes, a warning will be displayed. Alternatively, if you wish to save your changes, click Save.
