Data Export - Creating Exports

Overview
This guide is a walk through for the creation of a scheduled Data Export to provide an example of each step involved. Some of the steps might vary slightly for different Export Types, but the basic principles will remain the same.

Steps

  1. Access Data Export
    • Select Settings > Import & Export Data > Export Data
      • In the navigation menu on the left side of the screen, click on Settings
      • Under Settings, select Import & Export Data
      • A new section will open under Import & Export Data, click on Export Data
  2. Add new export
    • Click the Add Scheduled Export button to open a new Import dialog screen and set up an import that is capable of running on a regular schedule
  3. Define the Name and Export Type
    • Specify a Name for the new export. This will ensure that it can be identified correctly later, or by other staff
      • Please note that you cannot have 2 exports with the same name
    • Select the Export Type for the export you want to set up. As an example, to export open orders set the Export Type to 'Open Orders'
    • Click the Next button to proceed
  4. Select the file name and location
  5. Set up column mapping
    • Column mapping is used to set up a link between the column headers provided in the file being imported to Linnworks and the field in Linnworks that will contain the imported values
    • Use the following guide for full details on column mapping
    • Click the Next button to proceed
  6. Set up the schedule
    • A schedule is used to define how regularly the import should run, be it hourly, daily or weekly
    • Use the following guide for full details on setting up an import schedule
    • Click the Save button
