Linnworks is built ground up to deal with external selling channels. The orders that are being received from external channels have order items which may not have the same name as your internal product definition, for example an item may be advertised on eBay as “Brand New Basket of Goodies – Great as a gift” which actually should be linked to your stock product with the name “Basket of Goodies”. Linnworks has several mechanisms to deal with the linking.
eBay orders
Linking of eBay order items can be done by order item title or by custom label (if custom label/SKU is present). To add the linked title to the product
go to Stock Items
find a product you want to add linked titles to,
Edit Item
open Linked Titles tab
Add new title, or add from existing. Adding from existing will scan all orders you had received where order item is unlinked and add all these titles to the list
You can also do the linking as you receive orders (i.e. you don’t need to link everything up before you start working with the system). Linking to stock items as you receive order will be described in this section.

You can further enhance linking of eBay titles by including eBay listing category, subtitle and listing attributes (size, color) into the item title. See Settings > Automation > eBay > Item title options. By including additional fields to the item title, the order item downloaded from eBay will be comprised of Item Title (category) (attribute:value;attribute:value), hence making it more unique and distinguishable. Consider carefully whether you need additional fields, although it makes the title more distinguishable it makes linking a little more complicated, therefore if your item title contains all the information you need to uniquely identify the product you probably don’t need additional fields.
Amazon Orders
Amazon order items can also be linked by title or SKU. Generally speaking when you specified Amazon SKU for a product in Settings > Automation > Amazon > Listed Products, the link will automatically be created. Alternatively you can add Amazon listing titles to Stock Item Linked titles as described above or link the order items as orders coming in.
Linking order items to stock items as orders arrive
When the new order is received with order item which is not linked to a stock items, you will see Stock Level indicator for this order item as a Question Mark. This means the system doesn’t know what product in your stock this order item relates to.

You can manually link this item by:
Highlighting the order
Right Click
Actions > Link Items

Find the product the order item with the title displayed in the Item Title field should be linked to and Click OK.
Once an order item is linked the system will be able deduct stock appropriately. The linking is also vital for eBay Inventory watch module to be able to revise and end listings. For Amazon inventory update the linking must be present in Listed Products screen in Settings > Automation > Order Book > Amazon.
