Linking Products to listings on selling channels (Amazon, eBay and others)
Overview
Linnworks Order Management and Stock Control system was built from the ground-up to deal with external selling channels. Each selling channel has different method of dealing with products and items information. Linnworks system relies on several principles to deal with each of those channels effectively and efficiently.
In order to have centralized inventory repository cross-linked with all channels, Linnworks system needs to make sure that every product is linked to its parent product. The orders that are being received from external channels have orders items which may not have the same name as your internal product definition and can result in items being unlinked.
Important note: Linnworks system will not take control of any unlinked items. For inventory synchronization to work, it is absolutely vital to make sure every item is linked.
Because of the complexity of the task, Linnworks system will attempt to link items automatically when possible, and all listings that do not match any of the products will need to be linked manually.
In general, there are two main elements which Linnworks requires in order to link a product – item title or SKU.
Examples below show how Linnworks deals with item linking on following marketplaces:
- eBay – by item title or SKU;
- Amazon – by item title or SKU;
- Play.com – by SKU only;
- Pixmania Pixplace – by downloadable catalogue or SKU;
